Bank of America Mobile Check Deposit

OMG – this mobile check deposit actually works like they described it!!! I was lying in bed the other night and saw this ad on TV for Bank of America. It indicated that all I was going to have to do was take a picture of my check with my smartphone and I could deposit checks from anywhere. Sounds too good to be true.

To kick it off, all I needed to do was to text something or other, I think it was “deposit”, to BANKAM. And almost immediately, I got a text back with the web page to download the mobile app. Amusingly, it was the same one that I already had ON my phone. So I guess the last time my phone updated, I had gotten the feature without realizing it.

Today, I got a check in the mail. Here was my big chance. Fired up the BofA mobile app, “Deposits”, and boom. “Take a picture of the front and back of your check” (or something real similar); select the account to deposit to; enter the amount – and boom. I was done in less than 2 minutes. Though it did want me to be a little more complete on my signature – didn’t recognize that I had signed it. So I did have to re-sign the check and take a picture of the back again. Confirm deposit and done. All in less than 2 minutes.

This will make my life MUCH easier. Used to have checks that would sit around waiting for me to get to the bank – but no more. I am SOOOOOOO glad I switched back to BofA. Originally switched away from them after they decided to charge me just under $500 for photocopies for my accountant – completely ignoring everything that she had asked of them. But after trying out several other local and national banks, realized that no matter how I sliced it, Bank of America provided services that I really could just get nowhere else. I would prefer to do business with a small hometown bank, but they just don’t have the ability to provide all those services that I count on – unfortunately.

Thanks Bank of America!
